Titou Gorge Swim: Arrive at the entry pool. Enter the narrow basalt slot canyon, where vertical volcanic rock walls frame a canopy overhead. Swim 5 to 10 minutes upriver through deep, cool water to reach a hidden waterfall hidden inside the cavern. 10:30 AM – Rainforest Pools & Hot Springs: Transition to nearby natural pools. Visit the Emerald Pool (a 15-minute trail walk leading to a rainforest waterfall pool) or soak in the geothermal sulfur pools in Wotten Waven to warm up after the canyon swim.

08:00 AM – Trailhead Prep (Middleham Falls): Drive up into Morne Trois Pitons National Park to the Providence trailhead. Ensure you have sturdy hiking boots, plenty of water, and a rain jacket, as this area sees frequent rainforest showers.
08:30 AM – The Middleham Trek: Embark on a moderately challenging, 1.5-hour hike (each way) through thick, pristine rainforest. You will navigate tree roots, small streams, and slight elevation changes under a canopy of giant gommier and chatannier trees. The reward is a spectacular view of Middleham Falls, dropping approximately 200 feet from a canyon notch. Brave the freezing, misty pool at the base for an unforgettable plunge.
11:30 AM – Emerald Pool & Grotto: After hiking back to your vehicle, drive 15-20 minutes to the Emerald Pool. Unlike Middleham, this is an accessible, well-paved 10-minute walk through the forest. The 40-foot waterfall cascades into a beautiful, green-tinted grotto surrounded by ferns and orchids—a perfect spot for a more relaxed swim.
01:00 PM – Lunch (Caribbean Flavors): Stop near the Pont Cassé roundabout or on the drive toward the east coast. This is an ideal time to refuel with traditional local dishes like grilled fish, fried plantains, root crops (dasheen or yam), and a refreshing glass of local fruit juice or rum punch.
02:30 PM – Atlantic Coastline & Beaches: Descend toward the island's eastern edge, where the calm Caribbean Sea gives way to the wild Atlantic Ocean. Drive along the coastal roads near the Kalinago Territory or Pagua Bay. Take in the dramatic sea cliffs, watch the Atlantic waves crash against the shore, and walk the striking volcanic black and silver sand beaches.
04:30 PM – Return Journey: Wind your way back across the island through the late afternoon mountain mist, returning to your home base by early evening.

Morning Timeline & Logistics
08:30 AM – Drive to the Reserve: Depart south along the coastal road toward Pointe Michel and Soufrière (approx. 15–20 minutes from Roseau). Park at the entry facility near the stony shoreline.
09:00 AM – Gear & Safety Briefing: Grab your mask, snorkel, fins, and a flotation vest. If you bring a camera, secure it with a wrist strap. Enter the water via the timber boardwalk platform or carefully step off the dark, volcanic stone beach.
09:30 AM – The Geothermal Snorkel: Swim out over the shallow coral gardens. As you reach the active vents, the water temperature noticeably warms, and millions of tiny bubbles shimmer around you. Follow the drop-off wall to spot parrotfish, hawksbill turtles, trumpetfish, and colourful sponge formations.
11:00 AM – Shoreline Decompression: Head back to dry off on the beach. Grab a fresh local fruit juice or cold drink at the shore facility while enjoying views across the bay toward Scotts Head.
12:00 PM – Midday Return
Nestled in the Roseau Valley, the small mountain village of Wotten Waven sits directly over active geothermal vents. It serves as Dominica’s wellness capital, where natural mineral water and volcanic mud are channeled into rustic, open-air rainforest pools.
